About the Role
Skytells is seeking a Senior ML Engineer to join our AI Research team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing machine learning models that power our core AI products. Working closely with our research scientists and engineering teams, you'll translate cutting-edge research into production-ready systems that solve real-world problems for our clients.
As a Senior ML Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to work on diverse projects across natural language processing, computer vision, and reinforcement learning domains. You'll contribute to our open-source initiatives and help shape the future of AI technology at Skytells.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable machine learning systems for production environments
- Collaborate with research scientists to translate research prototypes into production-ready code
- Optimize model performance, efficiency, and deployment pipelines
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices
- Stay current with the latest ML research and technologies
- Contribute to open-source projects and research publications
- Work with cross-functional teams to integrate ML solutions into Skytells products
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field (Master's or PhD preferred)
- 5+ years of experience building and deploying machine learning models in production
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Experience with distributed computing and large-scale data processing
- Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, deep learning architectures, and optimization techniques
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with MLOps tools and practices
- Contributions to open-source ML projects or research publications
- Experience with NLP, computer vision, or reinforcement learning
- Knowledge of model serving frameworks (TensorRT, ONNX, TorchServe)
- Experience with real-time inference systems
